Oryzatein is an organic brown rice supplement that’s been shown to increase lean muscle growth comparable to whey protein. (I) Not only that, but brown rice protein can deliver l-leucine better than whey protein. (II)
Who’s behind Oryzatein? The supplement has been created by the company Axiom Foods in Los Angeles, America. They work with certified organic brown rice farms to deliver healthy, harm-free, highly bioavailable protein supplements.
Furthermore, their manufacturing process uses low heat technology, which means they don’t use artificial elements. This helps to maintain high nutrient density in their brown rice protein.
You could say, Axion Foods have created a waste-free organic supplement that’s not only good for the environment but also good for lean muscle growth and repair.

Benefits of using Oryzatein:
Brown rice protein absorbs between a fast-digesting whey isolate and a slow-digesting casein protein. This means you’ll feel fuller for longer without the hunger pangs, or stomach discomfort associated with casein.
For example; when consuming a whey protein pre/post-workout. Or even as a meal replacement. You’ll often feel hungry soon after, which then leads to overeating when dieting.
And as for casein, it may cause constipation or bloating. Or more serious side effects such as aggravating colon cancer. (III)
Therefore, by using brown rice protein you’ll be able to take it throughout the day/night without side effects associated with casein or dairy in general.
Increased amino acid absorption:
The main muscle-building amino acid l-leucine has been shown to be absorbed 30% more in rice protein, than other protein supplements.
Improved l-leucine uptake and absorption means better muscle growth and recovery. This is because l-leucins is the main muscle-building amino acid. This is achieved easier with brown rice protein.
Therefore, if muscle growth is your main concern, then you’ll also need to consider muscle protein synthesis MPS – the key to muscle growth.
Combining increased l-leucine delivery (seen with rice protein) and enhanced MPS, muscle growth and repair is at its highest potential, naturally.

Lean muscle growth:
Due to the nature of organic brown rice protein (being non-animal based and low in fat and low in calories) it won’t cause weight gain similar to that of dairy products.
Furthermore, it won’t spike your insulin such as dairy can. Which is one of the main causes of unwanted weight gain, along with excess calories.
No harmful chemicals or allergens:
Most often, whey protein supplements are derived from animals that have been fed anabolic steroids, growth hormones, antibiotics or other chemicals that are negative to human health.
Furthermore, whey contains lactose which often causes allergic reactions and stomach discomfort. This isn’t the case with Oryzatein.
This is where organic brown rice protein is a better option than whey protein or even soy protein. As it’s free from chemical alterations and harmful manufacturing processes.
How Orazytein Works?
Oryzatein is one of the simplest, yet most effective supplements at improving recovery and performance – without the side effects of genetically modified foods.
This is due to the way rice protein doesn’t cause inflammation similar to that of whey protein. Nor does it contain harmful processing chemicals as previously mentioned.
Again, this is because most whey protein manufacturers use harmful chemical regulators to produce their final product.
Not only that, but the amount of raw material from cows milk needed to turn it into a tub of whey protein is shockingly huge. It takes roughly 700 lbs to create just 5 lbs of whey protein.
Rice protein is produced with no excessive waste – and no harm to animals or the planet. On top of this, Oryzatein can deliver the main muscle-building amino acid (l-leucine) 30% greater than whey protein. Making it more effective at muscle repair. (V)
Furthermore, as rice protein is virtually fat-free, it’s perfect for lean muscle growth. Whilst keeping levels of cholesterol and blood pressure low.
The Studies on Oryzatein and Rice Protein
In two groups, who were tested using a double-blind crossover study. One using whey, and the other using rice protein, found that rice protein showed better results when it came to delivering l-leucine – at up to 30% more.
While it was noted that whey protein was equal to, or faster delivery of all amino acids under the curve. It was shown, however, that l-leucine was greater in the rice protein groups. (VI) L-leucine being the main muscle-building amino acid.
This means, the quicker you can absorb and use l-leucine, the faster your recovery is going to be. As highlighted when using a rice protein supplement.
In another paper, on the research comparing rice protein vs whey protein. The participants using rice protein had the same end results when it came to fat loss and muscle growth. (VII)
This shows how brown rice protein can be used as effectively as whey protein. If not better in some cases due to the balanced and timed delivery, zero lactose content, no harmful hormones, and enhanced l-leucine absorption.
Sport Nutrition Expert Recommendation?
If you’re looking for a protein supplement without the side effects that often come with whey protein, then Oryzatein is the ingredient to look out for.
However, there might be a slight problem that I haven’t yet mentioned. You can only buy Oryzatein in bulk if you’re a supplement company looking to create your own formula.
The good news is, there are protein supplements online that hold Oryzatein. But to save you the trouble and time, I’ve reviewed the best currently available.
For a complete protein formula that contains Oryzatein – check out the supplement I use Performance Lab Organic Rice Protein.
To summarise: Oryzatein works just as well as whey protein but without the side effects associated with whey protein.
Furthermore, l-leucine can be absorbed at a faster rate, along with medium absorption rates. Keeping you fuller for longer. This, in my opinion (and according to the science), puts this rice protein supplement ahead of whey.
The only thing left to do now is to try it for yourself. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, I wasn’t.
